Happy Anniversary Falstaff Productions! It is hard to believe that it was little more than a year ago that we decided to go our own way with Falstaff Productions and only a couple of months after that we realised it was time to take the plunge and purchase our high definition cameras and audio gear. We have been thankful for the flexibility of that gear every time we head out to a shoot. Our decision to go light and mobile made it possible to pack up and take a bus into the Horn of Africa last summer to work on a documentary; thank you Tyler! We managed to escape the worst of the bandits and blown tires and had a fantastic trip. Everything, including the filmmakers, came back in one piece. And with that adventure still fresh in my mind, it is amazing to think that this is just the beginning. Our philosophy has always been to simplify and demystify the art and the technology of video production for ourselves and our clients. It is all about good storytelling. The story can come through if you shoot it on your own with a handicam or if you choose to assemble it with the help of a 50 person crew. To put it simply, you too can make a video. Don't get me wrong. We love to do what we're doing, and we're always thrilled to go out and put projects together. But, we know that some people are going to do this on their own; your company may not see the need for it and you have no choice... or maybe you really want to make your own video. Either way, give us a call or send us an email and we'll give you tips and advice to make your project go more smoothly. We aren't going to make things more complicated than they need to be and we aren't going to drop a ton of jargon on you and hope you slip up--we've been there, and we know that all you need sometimes is a simple, straightforward answer.

"Anyone who has ever been privileged to direct a film also knows that, although it can be like trying to write 'War and Peace' in a bumper car in an amusement park, when you finally get it right, there are not many joys in life that can equal the feeling." - Stanley Kubrick |
